Presqu’ile

Santa Maria

Presqu’ile Winery and Vineyards is a signature Tier III winery located on 193 acres east of Orcutt in the East Santa Maria Valley wine country and is the home of the Presqu’ile Winery Estate Label. The winery operation will include a 12,790 sf wine production wine facility complete with multiple levels of fermenting, crushing, aging, and bottling, 12,300 sf of wine caves, and a 6,950 sf Hospitality building for tasting and special events.

As a working vineyard, the site maintains 130 acres of on site estate grapes solely dedicated to the winery. Maintenance facilities will include maintenance structures, agricultural water reservoirs, and efficient irrigation systems. Industrial waste water produced through the winery development will be treated using a state of the art bio-remediation feeder system.

Utmost care for the surrounding natural landscapes was paramount in the development on the site, which is full of oak woodlands and chaparral. The project was designed to avoid the areas of sensitive habitat focusing construction in areas of historic agricultural production. All habitat areas remain pristine lending to the aesthetic of the winery. Landscaping for the project will focus on native designs.

UPC was involved at the very outset of the project, assisting the owner in researching the site, master planning the ranch, designing and developing the site, and successfully procuring all necessary permits for the site. Proactive site design resulted in Presqu’ile being the largest winery developed in Santa Barbara County to not require an Environmental Impact Report, having successfully mitigated significant impacts through creative design.
