Serving as a Co-Project Manager teamed with area specialists, UPC is assisting in the development and permitting of the City of Santa Maria’s Regional Integrated Waste Management Facility slated to open in 2018. the city of Santa Maria purchased 2,000 area of ranchland south of Orcutt in order to develop a new land fill as the current landfill is nearing capacity. As part of the operation, a regional open space park is also envisioned. UPC is in the team developing the open space management plan and overseeing the state and federal permit process for creation of the landfill. Numerous permit applications are currently being processed including CALRECYCLE, RWQCB/USACE 404/401, CADFW 1600 and others.
